Attorney General: No Right to Effective Assistance of Counsel in Removal Proceedings

In the waning days of the Bush Administration, Attorney General Michael Mukasey revamped immigration proceedings this week when he ruled that individuals do not have a right to effective assistance of counsel in removal proceedings.
