Scholars in support of DREAM Act

I am proud to have added my name to an open letter by hundreds of scholars encouraging Congress to pass the DREAM Act. Though the legislation approved by the House plays into the tired tough-on-crime rhetoric that disproportionately penalizes young people of color, it would nonetheless help millions of young people who have already proven themselves to be stellar individuals. For that reason alone, as the letter states, “passing the DREAM Act is the right thing to do for our nation’s immediate interests and for our long term security.”

The full letter and list of signatories is available on the Immigration Policy Center’s web site.
