Sanctuary campuses map

Since Donald Trump’s victory in November, much has been said about sanctuary. Across the United States, university students, faculty, and staff have mobilized to pressure their administrations to move in the direction of creating a safe haven for migrants. I’m part of a team at the University of Denver that, among other things, is attempting to gather helpful resources for administrators and advocates on a website we’re calling the Constitution Campus Clearinghouse.

Among the most exciting resources I’ve come across recently is a graphical display of the budding sanctuary campus movement. Xavier Maciel and Aparna Parikh have meticulously tracked efforts at hundreds of colleges and universities and created this helpful map.

Don’t see your institution and want to change that? By clicking on a particular institution, you can access the petition that advocates are pushing.

    Hello Cesar,

I am a 2015 DU grad and am thrilled to come across this site. You have done such an incredible job collecting and curating informative, comprehensive information on this topic. Thank you. I am currently putting together a packet of resources for Laura Emiko Soltis, a 2017 Ashoka Fellow and the Executive Director of Freedom University (https://www.freedomuniversitygeorgia.com/). Laura will be giving a presentation next week and asked me to gather some updated resources on sanctuary colleges and universities around the nation. I would love to highlight Crimmigration.com, and hopefully draw (well deserved) attention to the work you have been doing. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thank you again,
    Maria Estenson

A family friend’s 19 yr old daughter who has been a student in a public school since grade school, was denied in-state tuition at Broward College. She was told by the school that she can only take non-credit classes for in-state tuition.
